Corrective Treatment
With unfavourable bone size, guided bone regeneration surgery (GBR) is performed at the clinic. This method involves vertical or horizontal regeneration of the receded bone part. Autogenous bone or special bone matrix (Bio-Oss) are used for this purpose, as well as resorbable bilayer membrane (Bio-Gide). As the result of such surgery, additional bone quantity missing grows within 4-9 months.
Lifting the mucous membrane of the sinus bottom may also increase bone height in the upper jaw. This is the sinus lifting surgery, which significantly restores bone height and thus preconditions for socket formation of future implants are created. Bio-Oss, Bio-Gide and PepGen P-15 materials, which currently are the most widely applied in the world, are used for this purpose as well.
